yz490 front forks

i have a 1983 yz490 that i recently got and it needs to be completly redone. the service manual says not to take the front forks apart but can this be done? they both have leaked out can i just replace the seals or do they have to be rebuilt?

Yes they can be rebuilt and resealed.
