Hey folks, I have an 01cr250 and plan to ride trails this year. The trails I ride are not your smoothest trails to ride, to go fast I need a suspension that can soak up alot without bouncing me all over the place. I would like to know what folks have done with this bike to really get the suspension plush, I'm not talking about just softening it for motorocross..I've gone that route with Pro action and I could tell a nice difference, but even with the clickers out I need more suspension. Any ideas/help, comments appreciated. I would specifically like to know if going to a "stiffer" spring would actually make the rear softer. Right now I have to add tons of preload to get the right race sag. My initial thoughts are that I should go to the next size up spring, but go lighter on the oil in the rear shock as well as the front forks. I weigh 175 lbs.
Thanks.

Tmoney,
You shaould have gone back to PA for them to fix it... Its a pretty simple deal, and I imagine they removed all the low speed compression, and added high-speed.. Generally speaking this is going offer a small improvment to feel, but won't effectively deal with the real issue..

Anyway as for your springs.. Conventional wisdom, seems to indicate that true offroad suspensiuon should be lighter sprung than MX... Your CR should be fine.. How much preload are we talking about? What was free sag?

The Stiifer spring is better approach has some aplications but today most bikes are sprung pretty well for the average mids-sized guy... MXA keeps lost track time and every year makes the same worthless recomendations.

Jer

Jeremy,
Thanks for the response. Would it help if I sent you a picture of how far my preload is down on the threads and what my measurements for sag are? What would the advantages of the work MX-tech would do compared to what PA has already done? Thanks.

Tmoney,
I'd rather not get into that debate.. I'm sorry I try to keep this board a place where we avoid the pitfalls of "trolling". Sufice it to say there are many companies that do good work.. PA IMO is not one of them... I use this forum to learn, havefun, stay sharp, debate with my colleuges and educate.. And if your happy then don't worry about it.. Like we all just told the KTM guy, go back to the company who did the work and make them make it right if your not..

Best Regards,
Jer
