Hello all. Will an 02 KX250 (19")wheel assembly (rim/brake/hub) mount and work on my 01 KDX220 with stock 18" wheel? Will it require different wheel spacers? Has anyone tried this? I need to replace my rear rim, and this seems like the easiest fix if it will work. If it works, will I need to change my rear sprocket size to compensate for the larger rim/tire?
And I wonder if you could just lace up a new 19" rim to the existing hub assembly. That might be the easiest route. Pros understand how to lace up wheels and can probably do it in their sleep. And you then know the stock hub / brake / bearings / spacers will all work right.
I picked up a '95 KX 125 basket case and was able to bolt it's rear tire/rim/hub straight onto my 200H, 220A model KDXs. I could not tell any difference in the handling, although I've heard a good rider could. Also using the 35mm AS carb.
