Not sure this is the correct forum... Too many to choose from. :-)
Well, it looks like we are getting into racing again (finally!). My son has been off bikes for three years now and I picked him up a SWEET '02 YZ250. The bike is BONE stock, the original owner bought it two years ago and has NEVER rode it other than in his driveway a time or two. The tits were stil on the knobs on the original tires! Not even a scuff on the frame paint. Sorry to ramble, but we got this bike for 1/2 the price of an '04.
Anyhow... The bike was very rich and fouling plugs, I put in a 174 main and a 42 pilot (temps are currnetly in the 40s). I am interested in opinions on changing the needle? Any tuning with the PJ? I am running a B8EV plug now (B8EG was the original).
Any other "tips" on this particular bike? We did the basics... Bars, skid plate, frame and rad guards. I will be working with him at the track tomorrow (Wednesday) on setting the sag and adjusting the suspension... I figure he can get a few races in and see how he does before we spend any money on the forks and shock.
Appreciate any input. Thanks in advance!
