I know where I can get an 03 CR250 for $1500. Actually, I could probably get it for a little less. The problem is that I can't talk my wife into it. Is this a steal, or not?
thats REALLY cheap... whats wrong with it? around here (DC) I'd expect to see that bike for around 2.5-3K. oh youre in PA hurry up or ill buy it LOL :laugh: Also, at least here, you can call up the state police and they will generally run vins for you.
Thats a good deal but it's proabally a ratty bike for that price. I haven't seen it but figure in your cost bring it up to spec, ie top end, linkage bearings, chain and sprockets. My brother has had a lot of trouble with his fork seals on his 02' CR, keep an eye out for that.
If its not stolen, then it could be a lemon. Check and make sure nothing is butchered on it, like a drain bolt or something. Becuase my buddy got a really good deal on an 03 CRF450 but the previous owner had nearly stripped out the trans drain bolt, and the cases had nasty home-made welds on it...
I've seen bikes for that price range. They are generally in need of a bunch of freshening up, and are usually owned by people who neglect them. Look closely before forking over any cash.
