03 yz 250 cylinder question

i just got a 03 yz 250 the guy said that the cylinder was ported i am worried that it has been sleeved if it has been i am goin to replace it i was wonderin tho if it was ported would they have done portin in the case to most likely or can i just get a new cylinder i was just gonna pop the head off to look but wont be able to see what is done to the case
