04 CRF 450 Oil Change

I just got my new bike ,we ride hare srambles so most of the time its pretty brutal abuse on one and I was told that I should go over the amount of oil needed because of there liking to run hot and use up the oil I used almost a quart does anyone know if to much oil will hurt I know to much is better than not enough but any info would be appreciated..

A better approach might be to use an auxilary oil tank to increase the capacity.
