im going rebuild it. i was thinking about 13:1 cp piston, 02 crf450r cam, and sending the head to eric for rebuild/porting. has anyone done this or know how much different it would run? and also if i could run pump gas with thay set-up. it is currently a completely stock bike.

since its time for a rebuild, id like to have a little more of the same type of power. i dont want to lose any bottom end. i want strong low rpm power. i want it to get traction, no 2 stroke hit to break traction, pull hard all the way to rev limiter. is that asking too much?
Skip the 02 cam, run a Hot Cams Stage 1 instead and do rest and you'll be really pleased with the end result.

i have many mods to my 08 crf450r i was reading on thumper talk eddie sisneros dynoed a crf450r with a 13.5:1 J&E piston MRD exhaust and a stage 3 cam at 56hp stock on these bikes is 48 at rear wheel.stage 2 cam has about 2 hp less but more bottom and mid. i have my bike ported and polished the carb bored to 43.5 mm MRD exhaust vortex ignition 13.5:1 J&E piston and the web cam 921/242 it makes a big difference.the porting is good from 3 to 5 hp and the cam is good for about 1 to 5 hp depending on other mods also i am running pump gas with no problems.
