Good morning everyone!! Looking for some advice here, it's kinda two fold so please bare with me.
1st off, I'm looking at a 07 150 R/B, the bike is immaculate, still has the tits on the tires, no sign of dirt on the bike anywhere. The bike had been sitting in a barn, first owner bought it and got scared of it then sold it. The second owner claims it has 2 hours on it, and by looking at it I would agree. The second owner took it to a local authorized Honda dealer to have the carb worked on. The Honda dealer cleaned the carb, jets and stated the float is in good condition. I seen the completed work order sheet which was done last week.
The individual selling it started it up with the choke on and let it do it's thing for several minutes, I pushed the choke in and it took about thirty seconds before the bike finally began to idle ( it was acting like the choke was still on). I listened to it for about two minutes idling and noticed the header pipe GLOWING RED. I know a little about the good old days motors but not the UNICAM motor. We shut it down and let it set, after about 10 minutes we cranked it up again and it began to glow again, but not as intense.
The glowing header on the UNICAM motor, is this normal?
Based on the Info I provided, is it a simple fix?
Should I stay away from this 150 R/B?
2nd part, I have offered $ 2050.00 for the bike, it is show room immaculate, but Leary of the glowing header.
I'm 47 and looking for some good ole fashioned solid advice on what to do or not to do.
Thanks Dennis,
