$1800 too much for 1997 kdx220?

my father is considering buying a 1997 220 for $1800.00. it has a fresh top end , front springs replaced, and is in good overall condition. does this sound like a good deal or should we look for a later model? thanks for any input.

I just gave $1550 for a '99 220. But it needed some love........new brakes, back tire, decals, clutch lever...etc.It was pretty plain. I feel like I got a good deal though. I would concider paying 18 for a 97 but would obviously still try to talk him down. It probably also depends on where in the country you live. KDX's are hard to come by sometimes here in east TN so when you see one in the paper you sometimes have to jump on it. :cool:

thanks gat. we just got back from looking at the bike. ended up talking him down to 1650.00. but that included a very fresh top end(not even 1 tank of gas through it yet) 1 pair of tech 6 boots, new pants, gloves, helmet and goggles. i think we did ok :ride:

I just bought a 2000 very clean kdx for $1,800 one owner with gear and ramp. I feel pretty good about the deal! First two smoker!
