1981 KX125 good? bad?

I have the chance to pick up a 1981 KX125 the bike is about 95% complete but it does not run. I'm looking at getting it for an evolution racer project. But what was the bike like? I heard it was fast but the handling sucked cause it was heavy?

Those 81 Kawi's were evil handling machines. The 125's were fast and heavy but the "heavy" didn't make them handle bad, the geometry and suspension did. the '82 250's were just as bad. I had both of them. I got hurt on both of them as well.:(
