1983-1985 A2/a3 ?

Just wondering if anyone knows the difference between an A1,A2,A3 in the years of 1983-1985 on the KDX200 ?

BTW I noticed the silencer is different but is everything else the same ?

Besides the different silencer on the '83, I think any other differences are minor. I believe the '83 exhaust pipe also has a different part number than '84.

There may be small changes to jetting. Perhaps some cosmetic changes to seat cover and graphics. '84 was also sold in red (more rare than green).

Not sure if the '85 had the same LCD odometer as the '84.

afaik... there was a slight redesign to the swingarm in the 85 model.

the 83 model apparently had a tighter piston to cylinder tolerance, thus was more prone to seizure. the 84 and 85 models were cured of this.

also the 84 and 85 models had a slightly bigger tank than the 83, with extra capacity on the left side by about 0.5 to 1 litre.

smoother clutch action in the 85 model, and a redesigned gear shift lever in the 84-85 models.

larger footpegs in the 84-85 models, and a quieter (and larger) exhaust in the 84-85 models.

and there were changes to the jetting, not sure what these were on the top of my head.

so if you were to choose a model, it'd have to be either the 84 or 85 model.
