I found this kdx for cheap,I put new tires oring-chain,etc ,
I couldn't get it to run right so I came to this forum.

I dropped the pilot jet to a 35,main jet to 180,pulled off the stock muffler found an old but good answer muffler at the local bike wreckers for 10 bucks ,and bingo ,it rips and runs like a new bike ,I'm riding it alot,It,s a great bike.

Thank's to Freddette and reading up here I got a sweet bike to kickaround on.

Thank's,

Tim

Cool! I loved my old '84 (bought new). On those old bikes, the fork springs were too soft, but it is cheap to raise the oil level, cut a few coils off the springs and lenghthen the pre-load spacer. The brakes are weak - not much you can do about that. But the '83-'85 handle well and will get down the trail pretty quick if the bumps are not too big.

My 85 KDX200 is a bullet too. Can't keep the front whee on the ground. The original jetting sucked also, I'm running a 35, 170 w/needle in middle. Just too let you know, rear shock can't be rebuilt anymore-Parts unavail as well as some carb parts (from kawasaki). You will have to go aftermarket for those. Cheaper anyway. I think it may be faster then my 05 KDX220. But the 200 is not stock like the 220.
