Have you had a bike before? and what was it? if you really want a KX 250 of this time period, go for an 86+ cause in 86 it got a rear disc and cartridge forks (more tuneable). But if you just want something to bum around on the trails with for fun this be a great bike ONLY if it's in good working condition. Abused bikes for the time period can become money pits fast!!(big emphasis on this, cause it will feel like your constantly fixing the bike) You can still get quite a few parts for it aftermarket. But when it comes to little like chassis things like a special only threw the dealer part. You may run into avability problems (infamous back order) and it will be exspensive cause you can only get the part OEM anymore. If you think cause its an older bike parts won't be that cheap, not true older parts become more exspensive while newer bikes parts are cheaper. Just some things to consider, You'd be better of with a CR or YZ from this time era.
