1987 kdx 200

i just picked up a 87 kdx 200 and everything works on it minus the lights and the trip/ odometer

just wondering if anyone could give me tips on how to repair these two items. thanks Jason.

Is it the stock headlight?

Are the tripmeter or timer sections black, or shiny gray? Over time, when the LCD fails, it turns a black color instead of shiny gray.

its the stock head light


and the trip lcd screens are shiny gray

replaced the batteries on the trip and still nothing

Have you checked the lighting coil inside the ignition cover?

Are the wires reversed on the tripmeter?

where might i find my lighting coil? and where is the ignition cover?

this is my first bike lol. so i need help lol

It's on the left side. You may want to look on eBay for a used owner / service manual. It will be a great help to you.
