1992 KDX250 newbie questions

Sorry. But I need a few answers on some things.

Plastic. Same as any year KX or KDX200? side panels, fenders and fork sliders

Seat, same as any year KX?

Front and rear wheel bearings, headstem bearings and swingarm/linkage bearings same as any KX?

How about the brakes, same as any KX?

I see a lot of replacement parts for the KX bikes and KDX200/220, but not a lot for the 250s. Thanks for the help!

From browsing around Dennis Kirk, it looks like the pads and rotors are the same as the 89-93 KX250 for the 92-94 kdx250. So you can get the ceramic pads and wave rotors there. Brake lines seem to be different though same with the MCs

Steering head stem bearings list the same for the 80-91 KX250 and KLX250 94-96

For the Fork seals, looks like the 88/91-95 KX250 fork seals list the same as the KDX250 units.

Fork gaurds is the same as the KLX300.

Front Forks: Kayaba. 4.8kg for 92-94. 43mm inverted. 892 eibach spring series

Rear shock: .35kg for 92-94. SPring same for 88-02 KX and 89-94 kdx200. Eibach 996 series

Sprockets seem to be a KX/KDX thing. No differences there. Much like the honda Cr/xr sticking to one design.

Reeds are the same as the KX500 units.

Rear swing arm slider is the same as the 94 kdx200
Rear mudflap is the same as the kx250 for the year.

Looks like the seats are a bit different, but a cover would most likely fit both.

Still dont know about the bearings in the wheels and rear suspension.


Here is what interchanges on the rear bearings:

1986-2002 KX125/KX 125/KX250/KX 250 and KX500/KX 500, 1989-2002 KDX200/KDX 200/KDX220/KDX 220; 1991-94 KDX250/KDX 250; 1993-96 KLX650A/KLX650R/KLX650/KLX 650; plus the 1983-84 KL250C/KLR

So that is the same there. I dont know about the front cause of the extra enduro gears there. More to come, this may turn out to be a good FAQ.
