Hey yall. I am new to the forum, and this is my first post. I have the opportunity to get this bike from my friend for pretty cheap ($300), and I am wondering if this would be a good bike for a beginner. I have never ridden a dirt bike before, but have been riding 4 wheelers for 5 years now. Here is a little information about myself.
1) I am 15 years old, just under 6 feet tall, and about 210 pounds.
2) I'm not agressive, but I do catch a little air (under 4 feet) on the 4 wheeler.
3) I will mostly ride around the yard and in fields, but possibly some trails and sand too.(not dunes)
4) No dirt bike experience, but 5 years of ATV experience.
5) No I will not be racing
6) Yes I am mechanically inclined and will be doing most of the work myself.

I have not seen the bike yet, but I will look at it either this weekend or next week sometime. As far as I know right now, the only things wrong with it are a broken rear fender and the front fork seals are leaking. My friend said the motor was last rebuilt about a year ago, and he just finished rebuilding the carbureator.
My main concern is will this bike be a good starter bike? Will I be able to handle it or is it crazy fast?
Also is it hard to replace the fork seals?
If this is not enough info, I will try to list more.
Thanks for all the help,
Jacob

make sure its in good condidition and its gonna run before you make any decisions, for the price and such it's a good bike to learn on, then when you get more expreiecnced with your size move up to the 250, if you going to ride trails you might want to look into a trail, or offroading bike

it will work fine for learning on, but you may hunger later on for something a little more advanced i:e: suspension , aluminum framed
