1994 KTM 250 EXC, good bike?

I know someone selling a pretty clean 1994 KTM 250 EXC for sale, but still unsure as to how good of a bike this is. Anyone happen to own one or have experience with these particular models that could say some nice/bad things about it?

i may be only 15 but id say try to get a newer bike, i ride a 2000 KTM 250EXC and its more than enough for me. my reason for saying get a newer year is because pre 2000 they didn't have upside down forks and better components.

Actually they are great bikes. Sure the new ones are better. But they did not change all that much until recently.

Much of what makes the KTM a great bike is the "tuning" that can be done on the shock.

The engines are long lasting and make OK power.

If the price is right and it's in good shape I'd say go for it. They had linkage back then, so I'd say it's a good bike.

I've ridden a '95 that was decent, but personally I would hold out for the '98 or newer. The KTMs got lots of changes in '98. The 50 mm conventional Marzocchi forks used on the '98 and '99 can actually be made to work very well on the trail.

It looks very very clean, and is only for $1100. A tad bit of a drive from where I live but its damn nice and was "professionally maintained".. it does look it though. Wondering if I should bother, I've got an 88 YZ250 right now that I just got working and am pretty comfortable with it, but I have someone who wants to buy mine-- think it would be a good upgrade? Its been a bit since hes put it online so it may have been bought already:

I have a fresh rebuilt 94’ exc 250 looking to sell with upgrades. Dubya rims, 2x2 led, DID o-ring chain, protaper handlebar, 92’ exc front forks (rebuilt) gel cell battery, and Springfield armory CD-9 subcompact 9mm holster on bike (just in case… if you know what I mean…).

I have one and it’s great! A LOT of power. If it’s your first bike then it’s gonna be a hand full. Con: parts are gonna be hard to find. It took me $5000 and two years to completely rebuild mine. But will worth it.
