1995 YZ80 question

I currently have the stock pipe on it, with a FMF powercore II shorty. I'm just curious why it doesn't have that PING sound most two strokes have. It sounds a little bogged or something, and my friends CR80 you can twist the throttle just a little bit and it revs a lot, mine you have to give it a lot of throttle to get it to rev high.

you probably need to at least clean the carb, and probably rejet.

Thanks, I will clean the carb tomorrow and see if that makes a difference. Just a question, I KNOW that everyone sends me to that one page that tells about jetting, and its very complicated to me. Is there any way I can learn about jetting thats simple? I honestly don't know anything about carbs except how to clean them, and how to adjust the idle and the air screw.

that page is the simplest way. That is to say, there is no simple way. Just do it. Work it through and you'll be better for it.
