I was out practicing for a cross-country race today and got stuck at a bottleneck at a creek crossing and my bike got a little hot. I noticed it started making some rattling noises on my last lap and I parked it for the day. I started draining the tranny oil in preparation for tomorrows race and the tranny fluid came out looking like a strawberry milkshake! I checked the radiator and it was down on coolant slightly. Do I have a blown headgasket or a bad waterpump seal? There is a KTM shop support truck at the track that might have the parts. I don't race until about 3 tomorrow afternoon. How hard is it to fix either of these possible problems? Could I do it between 8 am and 2 pm tomorrow? I have never been into a KTM before and haven't worked on a 2-stroke in 15 years ...help!

You have water pump seal leaking.

You have to pull the clutch cover off to get to the seals.

It is really not that big of a job.
