1999 CR 250 advice.

Looking for a newer bike to play around w/ on a supercross-style track that I am building. Haven't been racing in about 9 years (125's), and clueless to updates & changes on 250 MX'rs. Prefer a CR or KX, and am going to look at a pristine '99 CR this weekend. Any pointers on what to expect or avoid? I am open to getting a bit new of either brand if it really makes sense for the extra money. I don't think I will notice, personally.

Well. I am glad that I drove 100 miles to meet the seller with an open mind, after reading one praise for the '99 and one negative. The bike is barely broken in, without a scratch. The previous owner put some money into a Noleen exhaust system, TAG bars, and expensive graphic/seat makeover. I can't tell what else, but I know the owner cleaned it with a toothbrush after every ride. I won't go that far, but it is good to know that there are used bikes out there that were taken care of, as they should for the prices paid these days. I basically have a better-than brand new bike for $3300.00.

Any suspension setup advice would be nice.
