2 stroke maintenance

What maintenance should be done to a 2 stroke motor and how often. I drive maybe 20-30 hours a year, no racing, just dirt fields and dunes 2-3 times a year.

Bike size, brand and year are big qualities to include in questions such as this.

Also oil type and ratio, RPM's heat and load play a factor.
A general rule of thumb, 125's 10 hours on a piston, 250's 20 hours on a piston, 500's 40 hours on a piston. BUT this can vary greatly, so it really has no good use. :(

Ok i gotcha...so i got that i have to change the top end every 20 hours (i plan on getting a 250), what else do I have to change that I wouldn't on a 4 stroke as often. And also, how precise does the mixing of the gas have to be, what is the proper ratio?
