2000 yz 80 gas valve leak

Hey, I have a problem with my gas on&off switch on my yz 80 it leaks, not out of the hose or the top but out of the ring around the lever.
if anyone can give me some ideas to fix this leak i would appreciate it. Cause I want to race it in a few days... I already order the switch from a local shop but its gonna take a while so im asking if anyone knows a temporary fix

if the unit is riveted together, nothing you can do.

well worse case senario you could jb weld the petcock in the on position that way it will not leak any more and you can still ride untill new one comes in
