Hi new to the forums here ive been into bike for awhile i just purchased a 2001 kdx220 and im having trouble with premix ratios im currently running 93 octane with yamalube 2-R at 40:1 and it seems to smoke more than i prefer and it spooges oil out of the pipe i was thinking of changing the ratio to 44:1 the type of riding i do is woods riding in the ohio valley area anyone have any insight on if going to 44:1 would be an ok ratio to run for my type of riding?

44:1 will likely be safe for your engine but it's unlikely to solve your issue. Your jetting is the probably the root cause of the spooge and smoke. Sharpening up the part throttle circuits will go a long way towards cleaning things up.
