2002 Cr 125 Need Help!!

just bought a 2002 cr 125. It is the 2nd bike I have owned and the first 2 stroke. I have noticed that when I am in first gear going from a stop or accelerating from a slower speed my bike doesn't just take off like it should. it feels like the bike is struggling at the beginning but after I start going it runs fine. I don't know if it has to do with carburetor or what but if anyone has any idea on what it could be I would really appreciate it!!

You realize of course that a two stroke 125 needs to be rev'd ... it won't tractor like a 4-stroke. So assuming there isn't actually a problem, twist the throttle! It's not going to "take-off" without that little motor at high RPM's. Someone coming off a 4-stroke having never owned or ridden one will feel like they are abusing it.

Clutch work is required, and a lot of it.

I t would be worthwhile to have someone familiar with 125 two-strokes take it for a spin, just to get a baseline idea of how it's running.

It should run clean although not strong until it gets into the powerband. If not then it may need to be rejetted or it may have a problem such as a fraying reed valve or a crankshaft seal going bad or even a dirty air filter.
