Well heck, Ford killed off the Thunderbird!
Why not?? Hey lets axe the Mustang, 1/2 ton pickups, and the Corvette too as long as were at it........:think :think :think

YEESH!
They kill off all the GOOD cars so they can make more 4 cylinder boxes and SUVs. What a waste...:(
Well at least Ford's bringing back their bird. Will Pontiac do the same????

They'll buy Mitsubishis because they "Look cool". Then in five years we can read "2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Needs motor." in AutoTrader.

LOL- MBFTY! Too true...

GM has threatened to kill the F-body cars for the last five years running. I wish they would either do it or shut up about it. It'll be kinda sad if they do stop production, but I guess it's inevitable.

I never thought I'd see the day when SUVs would take the place of hot rods/sportscars.

Hah! Suv replacing hotrods/sports cars? What do you classify as a sports car? A civic with nos? and about 200lbs of stero? Nope, that's a bicycle, with a eletric motor, and a baby bombox zip tied to the handlebars. Why would you ever want to get rid of hot rods? I mean come on, they wouldn't ever be as cool looking as they were back in the day. Like the 73 Nova SS. 72 Camaro. Such nice cars! They will end up coming out with some rice burner, crappy jap car wannabe thing. That will kick all the crap imports little weird sounded rear end! I don't really understand why they have those kinds of cars. Like today, I saw this mustang. Looked like a civic! With the huge wing and painted like they paint them, even had the same exhaust! It's annoying enough when jap cars have them, yet they do it to an American car? You know the reason why most of these people put that stuff on there, I've asked them. They said it just looks cool. Don't understand the purpose of putting it on there for more downforce, which equals more traction. They have little 4 cylinders, with nos. And that movie didn't help much either. Later.

Hey Haze,

Speaking of Nova's, I have a 74 Nova SS. What really is an insult, is that little tiny rice burner import they came out with in later years, and called it a Nova. It has no class at all, and was an insult to all former Nova's

HAzE, NOBODY in my 'hood drives a rice burner, except a couple of girls in bone-stock 2-door V-6 Accords. All the local punks drive Toyota 4Runners, Pathfinders, Xterras, Land Rover Discos or Defenders, Mitsu Monteros, Tahoes or Blazers, or Jeep Wranglers. So do their Mommies. :silly:

I've seen ONE Mustang around, and I think it's a six.

Sir T, that "Nova-yota" was a pathetic excuse for a car.

A disgrace

Its a disgrace...

Americans cars were meant to rumble...

When you put a resonator on the exhaust, you are desacrating all that is American. When was the last time you heard a souped up Toyota Starlet shake the ground?

That's what happens to a car when the only people who drive them have a mullett hair cut and listen to RATT and WHITESNAKE at full blast!!

It just gets old.

I got a chain e-mail one time that listed a car and what type of personality the people that drive them have next to it--

Camaro-I like to beat people up!

Self explanitory!

They haven't built a real Camaro since 1970.

Personally, I've never owned a car. Well, I did drive a '70 Chevelle for a while, but other than that, only manly rigs for this guy! Heck, my wife hasn't driven a car since we've been married (and she had a Camaro--'82 Z28 if memory serves)

Must be the redneck in me. :p These days there aren't many cars out there that really float my boat.:(

And what's wrong with Whitesnake?!;)

I'm with XRp, even though my wife has a 2000 Z28, I just can't get into cars.

I take a 4x anything first, the best rig I ever owned was in High school, a 54 dodge panel truck, 394 olds w/ 3 spd. hydro, 12.50x 16 all around and a pioneer supertuner...ahhh the good ol' days

Oh and the problem with Whitesnakes is, They leave their empty sunblock bottles all over the dez.

Okie,

I saw that same piece on Speedvision.

They didn't say they were gone for good, just on hiatus. Sounded like they will leave the door open to bring them back if the market changes.

Kids today (sounding like my Dad), want slammed honda civics and 400hp Supras with freaky ignition computers that are programmed by Nasa. Stuff that frankly, I don't understand. Although, I've got a stiffy to slam a Ford Focus and trick it out with all the body panels and some engine goodies. Problem is, the focus engine only starts out at about 115 horsepower =0( You gotta squeeze your wallet pretty hard to pull 200hp outta that car. But BY GOD, it would be fun to drive with that 5 speed. I bet you'd make a solid 14-second car out of it.

I had a '69 Dodge Superbee. I put on my Richard Petty wrap-arounds  and go cruising. My wife hated that car. I think she was jealous :p I found another one in North Texas but she wouldn't let me buy it. She wants a 68 fastback instead.

A guy at work just got done restoring his superbee. Looks pretty sweet.

If you used to drive a car that people are restoring today does that make you old?

Slo'Mo?
