Are these the same bikes? I just bought an 03 RM100 for my boy and was wondering.

When did Kaw & Suzuki merge?

I noticed Suz. only makes an 85L (big wheel) now, No 100.

Thanks for the info.

im not too sure when they merged but i think it was recently(1999-2002?), and when they merged they thought to themselves''whats the point of having the same bike in 2 different colors?'' so they probly scrapped the one that didnt do much sales(the poor rm100: ( ). Good choice with the rm100, i think yellow looks better then green(somtimes)

The companies never merged as far as I know. They came to some sort of agreement that saw them trade models that the other didn't have and co-develop a 250 thumper. I've seen rumors that this agreement is headed for an ugly divorce and may be part of the reason for the weening out of the RM100.

they are similar but not the same, the fit finish and fasteners on the zook are cheesier than the kx

It is my understanding the bikes come off the same production line. Which is one of the reasons the merger has had some ugly issues. Since Kawi always gets their new seasons model before Suzuki get's any. Suzuki then retaliated by doing the same thing with the new sport quads.

It is the same bike. If you ever need parts you can call either Kaw or suzki . Most of the parts guys are knuckle heads and swear they are different. NOT ! I have the factory dealer manual .The outside s of it say's RM-100-- Open the 2nd page it says "the RM100 derived from the KX 100 AND PRODUCED BY <wait for it> Kawasaki Heavy Industries
It is a great lil bike and can run with most 125's due to the power to wieght ratios. "WELL YA CAN'T BE SCARED OF IT AND IT WILL" . So depending on your mood and alil cash you can be yellow or green . Later
