can anybody tell me the proper exhaust and intake valve clearances for the 04 crf450? anybody got the shop manual and the ability to scan the valve clearance charts? it would be much appreciated!

From the 2002 manual -

Intake - 0.16mm +- 0.03mm (0.0063" +- 0.0012")
Exhaust - 028mm +- 0.03mm (0.0110" +- 0.0012")

Will,

intake: 0.005 +/- 0.001 in (0.12 +/- 0.03 mm)

exhaust: 0.011 +/- 0.001 in (0.28 +/- 0.03 mm)

Will - If you are running the OEM valves and fresh OEM springs I've found you can run any of the CRF450s the tight side of the 2002 spec so the specs that snb73 posted are for our purposes the same as the spec I posted. I should have been more clear in my original post. Sorry about that.

Lots more heat on the exhaust side along with a different valve material and a different actuating mechanism make for a different level of expansion in the parts.
