I just purchased a 2005 YZ125 with light springs in the front forks. I have the original springs I want to put back in. I have my service manual that shows how to tear down the forks, but I'm wondering how far I have to go to just replace the springs? My fork seals are fine and don't have to be replaced. Anyone know any shortcuts to just replace the springs? How far do I need to tear it down? What special tools do I need? I'm fairly mechanical, but have never done forks.

Thanks!

Just pull out the inner chamber and replace the springsd . The 05 Model does not have enough preload on the spring . It shuld be around 8mm of preload . The stock springs usualy had about a -5mm , in other words the was a 5mm gap between the spring seat and ther spring . You need to install a spacer to give it the 8mm of preload .
