I just bought a '06 WR250F and I love the bike, but if I get on the throttle off idle it stumbles, sometimes to the point of killing the motor. If I'm mid throttle and get on it, it's fine. I've heard about the mod to the grey wire, and I plan on doing that and the throttle stop mod. I'm just wondering if others have had this problem and if doing the grey wire mod will take care of it or if it's something else. Also it's a CA model, so I'm not sure if it has extra emissions crap on it that I need to bypass. Thanks.

Your dealer should have the factory hop-up kit. It contains the smog blockoff, different needle, different throttle stop and instructions for un-corking the exhaust and adjusting the fuel screw. Installed the kit on my wife's '06 wr250f, really helped perk it up. I wound up putting the clip 3rd notch down on the new needle , fuel screw 2 turns out.
