Got a '03 220 that we put an '05 200 jug on since the 220 jug and piston was blown to hades. Got it running and it runs alright but it still too rich. got the needle dropped all the way but I know the 200 and 220 had different size carbs.

Can you elaborate a bit more as to how you have your carb set up, that way we can provide you with a perspective?

Pilot Jet Size?
Main Jet Size?
Jet Needle? Stock 220 or an aftermarket?

I would suggest going to the part of this site that pertains to jetting a carb, specifically with the WOT plug chop then working your way down to the jet needle, then pilot sizing.

Thanks

The stock 33mm carb for a 220 had jetting of 145 / 42 .
All depending on other options like air box mods and the
pipe of choice you'll probably end up with jetting like 140 / 38.
Using this carb on a 200 will take away that mid throttle punch
but should be fine for modest trail riding.

Its a bone stock 220 now with a 200 jug. The 200 came with a pwk35 and the 220 has pwk33. Im guessing this is venturi bore, and if so then the 200 gets more air than the 220 carb? Just looking for a base jetting to start with.

Nobody likes to comment on this because it's detuning the 200's performance level . Unless your a serious rider and want maximum power , then the 33mm carb will be fine.

I have the same question. I have a 220 carb on my 200. I have a dynoport pipe and silencer (hi volume). I ride mostly single track. Elevation is 500ft. I want to jet for 60 degree temps. Any ideas where to start with jetting. I am going to pick up some jets tomorrow and start tinkering.

look on the justkdx website for base jetting guidelines. but i can tell you from doing this mod that the jetting is basically the same for both carbs, other than some minor tweeking.
