I'm new here, I've been searching through the forum for fork oil.
I found that some are using Mobile 1; either 7.5, or 10 weight.
I put the stock xr400 springs (.38kg) on my bike, and love it.
Now, I would like to slow down the rebound a touch, since it was
too fast before the change, and it seems even more necessary now.
I weigh 160, and like to ride the kind of trails this bike was made for. ( :ride: 2000, KDX 220)
So, if I go with 10wt fork oil, will it slow down the rebound?
If so, do you recomend this or something else?
Would 100mm be a good place to start if I were to use 10 wt.?

Thanks a lot for your help,
Fred

Thanks jaguar, how much oil are you using, and how much do you weigh?
I really love this bike, first time on a green machine... what took me so long!

est142, if you're thinking of changing your fork springs because the bike dives to easy when braking or g-outs. The xr 400 springs seem to do the trick.
You will find that the xr springs are @ 1- 3/4 longer than your stock KDX springs. The stock metal preload tube is @ 3- 1/2 long. What I did was cut the tube in half (1-3/4) and use it on the xr spring set-up. This is pretty close for the riding I
do and my weight (160).
