Hey guys,
I took my 82 CR250R out again today, and minus a real nice crash, had a great time. There were alot of people where we were riding today, and everyone kept commenting on how strong my bike was sounding. People were riding up to me (when I slowed down) just to say that thing sounds good, and strong. We were taking a little rest and a bunch of people were just hangin around the fire shooting the bull, and people were talking to me about my bike (mostly ATV's where we ride), and some real old guy riding a CR500 came up and told everyone that the years of my bike (82-84) were legendary for their power. I was beaming (First 2 stroke). It starts on the first kick, and rides the same all day. Later in the day as it warmed up outside I had to make a minor adjustment to the carb air/fuel mixture via the air screw but other than that it was a great time. I did have a real nice first crash (first of many?). I was climbing a little but kinda steep hill and had been all day and decided (got too confident) to try to get some air on it. I came up it hard and fast, I got some great air about 10 feet!! When I landed it was like I had been riding all my life, but then it went suddenly bad. When my front end did come down, it hit kinda hard and it caused me to goose the throttle, and back I went hard and up the bike went and I bailed!! LOL hit the ground on my side and on my knee. Bike landed on its side, and was ok. Got up, dusted off my pants a little, and got it up and started it again. (First kick) and off I went. My pride was hurt and my leg was hurting too real bad. If it bruises real nice I will post some pics! Cant wait till my brother gets his 250 Honda oddessey going. Parts will be here next week!! Oh well, I will have all my riding gear by then end of next week. Maybe if I had it on today it wouldnt have hurt so bad.!! Dunno.. will have to crash after I get it all to see! :coocoo:

Yeah, get that gear (the best you can afford) cause the hurt can get really bad, trust me.

Well so far this morning there isnt even a bruise, but I am sure there will be some later on. Pretty sore and sometimes if I hit it just right it almost makes me fall. Wife thinks its funny. I told her if she was there while I was riding yesterday she would have been freaking out all day while I was riding. Even more so when I actually crashed. My friend said it looked like I was a pro until he saw me bail!! LOL I dont think :coocoo: I will try anymore of that stuff till I get all of my safety gear.

I was wondering, when you get the riding pants, do they have pads in there.. or places in them to put pads? Should I buy separate knee pads? Not too sure..

Knee pads are separate. If they were in the pants, they'd move around and you want them to stay put. I just ordered some Asterisk Cells knee braces, but I've been using 661 Richochet knee guards and like them really well (watch the screws, though- keep them tight). Before that, I used Moose, but the 661 give a lot more protection, IME.

Good idea, since I am looking at the 661 full suit for my upper body protection. Do the pants have a pad like the tailbone pad and the hip pads like football pants?
