I'm thinking about buying a Nissan Frontier, anybody out there own one ?
Can you tell me if you can squeeze three full size bikes on ?
I realize I will need a bed extender, my concern is the width of the bed

Thanks, Bob

It will still be a very tight fit and a real PITA to load and unload.

Done it that way several times in my '99 F150 SuperCab with a 6.5' bed.

Not sure what the payload limits are on the Frontier, but if you are talking 3 full size bikes, 3 full size riders, gas, tools and gear and maybe some camping equipment, you might be overloaded. Air up your tires, lol.

I used to do 2 full size plus a Montesa 315R trials bike all facing forward in a full size shortbed, it was tight when they all faced forward but flip one around and I had plenty of room. Tried it a couple times with 3 MX bikes and it worked fine also so I suspect as mentioned it will be very snug and you'll have to get over not letting the bikes rub but ya' gota' have some kind of trade off or everybody would be doing it :)

all 3 facing forward. for the middle bike put a bike stand in front of the tire. it will move the bike back just enough. will be a tight fit but it works. I had 2 450's and a 85 this way. if I remember I will post up pics when I get home tonight.

I have an 02 Frontier longbed. The only thing I don't like about the vehicle is the self-lock safety feature. Flew home today. Got in my truck at the airport parking garage. Started the truck. Remembered I needed something out of my suitcase I threw in back. Got out with the engine running. Closed the door and went to the bed to open my suitcase. After about 30 seconds, I heard a "click." Yep, all four doors locked. Inside the truck were my keys, wallet and cell phone. Of course I parked it very low on gas, planning on getting some on my way home from the airport.
I learned from this that there is absolutely NO security at Tulsa International airport, once you're more than 25 feet outside the terminal.
It also does this when the engine is not running. If you unlock the truck and don't go open a door within about two minutes of unlocking it, the doors lock themselves again.
Supposed to be a safety feature I guess, but it's a PIA feature to me.
Other than that, best vehicle I've ever owned.
