ive gotten a lot of help on stuff here over the years so i wanted to post a money saver that i came up with. my local shop priced a valve tool for my crf 450 at 150 dollars so I made my own which is pretty simple to make out of a 5 or 6 inch C-clamp. It cost 15 dollars at my local True Value hardware store. I just used my oxy-acetylene torch and cut the head into forks and thats it. use a wire wheel to clean up any leftover slag. simple as that. please let me know if this was helpful

Also. to get the springs off in the first place you can use a deep socket with a rubber mallet and give it a good tap if you dont have the tool right away. otherwise just use the tool.

I bought my valve spring tool for my bike for $40.00. You just have to know where to shop for tools.
