Hey all.
I tried to search this and didn't come up with anything, so anyways...
Could some one list the valve clearances for a '99 yz400f for me? A friend of mine just picked this bike up recently and we are going to go completely over it. Called a local dealer, but the values they gave me seemed pretty wide (int .015 - .020" & ex .025 - .030") :whoa: . I'm in no way new to wrenching, have been a quad mech for about 15+ yrs. Just want the correct specs. Thanks in advance for the help.

The cold valve clearance specs are :

Intake - 0.15 - 0.20mm (0.0059 - 0.0079 inches)
Exhaust - 0.25 - 0.30mm (0.0098 - 0.0118 inches)

Thanks Rich. I kinda figured that they meant mm instead of inches, but I just wanted to be sure. The shop's tech guy wasn't in so it was someone at the parts counter that looked this up. Just didn't want to guess it was the right #'s even if he meant mm's. Again, thanx this will give us something to do tomorrow while it's raining.
