I have a 2001 Z/71 ex cab with the 5.3 liter engine ( its basically a 327). It has 3:73 rear with locking diff. ITs pretty peppy too for a big ol 4x4, no problems towing or passing for me....
If you notice you need more power there is always air intakes like k&n or airraid , Better exhaust ( flowmaster, borla), headers & hypertech programmer
The 5.3 is rated at 285 hp , which is more than the old 350 & i think :think more hp than the dodge 360 ( good motor BAD gas milage ... my Z gets better mpg than my dads 360 dodge 2wd) & fords 5.4
Down here in texas I have considered adding the above but dont really need them... maybe a flowmaster soon but i like having the extra $$ form my bikes :p
