500 toa 125?

i got a 88kx125. which i'm trying to find the 250 motor from 88 or 89 as it is easy to swap motors out, but was wondering if the 500 would work? I know that i would need to do some cutting of the frame to get it to fit, but since its a steel frame i can cut and weld anywhere! does any one know if i should give it a shot? the complete motor,tranny,carb,ignition,cooling systen,etc... goes for $103.00.the motor is like from 85 so its old but i'm not worried about finding parts cause i have good sources.

If you go to buykawasaki.com you can enter in year and make of every model and get parts diagrams i dont know if that will help but i tried.
