I just bought a 50cc FY50EY for my son. I am told it is nearly the same bike as a Yamaha PW50. We are new to dirt bikes, and 2 stroke engines. Unfortunately, the manual that came with the bike is not translated from Japanese real well. Anyway. I know 2-stroke oil goes in the front plastic tank. But the manual eludes to putting regular engine oil in the bike via a fill hole near the rear. It says to fill the oil to the mark on the dipstick; is the little rubber cap considered the dipstick??? The engine casing is stamped with 600 ml, so that is what I have put in so far. Should it be more or less? I emailed the dealer I got it from, and he says not to add oil to the engine, that the 2-stroke oil is all it needs. I find this hard to believe. What do you guys think?

Thanks

In His grace,

You need to add standard oil to the case for the transmission or actually the clutch, Use a good 10-30 and you will be fine. Use Yamaha R-2 or Mutol -600 for the injector.
