I recently told my wife I was not going to get into any more vintage bikes...then today, I stumble across a guy with 4 1974 or 75 Kawasaki KT250s for sale!

I have not seen the bikes - but this is what I was told - of the 4, 1 has less than 200 miles on it, and is in "great" condition (yeah, we have all heard that before), 2 of them are OK condition, but run and are rideable. 1 is a parts donor bike. And, get this. the 4 bikes, are consequetively numbered serial numbers... Evidently this guys uncle or Dad or some such family member bought 6 of these back in the day, eventually sold off 2, and this guy ended up with the remaining 4.

My thought is, if i can get a good deal on these (dunno yet what he wants for them), sell off two or three such I re-coup most of my cost, and keep the 4th (not necessarily the real nice one...but hopefully a decent example. I am not a trials rider, but must say I am intrigued with having one around to goof around on, plus simply because I like old, unique bikes around!

So...what sort of value might these bikes have? Seems I see plenty of Yamaha TY250s around online, but never have came across any KT's before. Evidently not as popular back then.

cooooool looking bike

Spooky,

The UK magazine TBM (trail bike monthly) did a feature on these KT's in this months edition, I had forgotten just how crushingly pretty they were!

...I used to go to trials when Sherpa's, Montessa's, OSSA Mick Andrews Replicas, and Chrome plated Beamish Suzuki's ruled...but I thought the KT was always the coolest looking.

I seem to remember from the mag' that they were very very good bikes and Kawi geared up for big sales that just never happend, here in the UK at least?

Value....now that's a hard one, over here there is a quite a following for 'twin shocks' not sure about the US?

Hmm, if I could buy one.......
