I recently got a 79 KX 250 and the seller said that he got it from someone in Oregon and that the jetting was real lean. I took the carb apart and found a 162.5 main jet and I would like to know what the stock jetting should be. I am at sea level if that helps.

Hi, I'm new here (been reading for a while) but the lack of response to your questioned pissed me off enough to join so I could help you.

Try this, since apparently we can't just put in a link or even the address of the site with the information on this site:

Go to Google and search for Bike Bandit,
Then select OEM parts
Then enter your year make and model
Select 78-79 Carburetor, and the stock settings are there

You can get exploded diagrams and parts information at www.buykawasaki.com Find the KX250 page, enter in the year and select parts diagrams.

I think yours is an A5 model and the standard main is a 172.5. The slow speed and needle info is also shown at the same site.
