84 Xr No Spark ,,,help Please Spring Is Here I Need To Ride

I have a xr 200 was riding it and died .....wait a month to look at it as I thought coil so tried different coil and it started up went for ride and did the same thing just died. tried the coil on another bike and its got spark so I ruled out that its not the coil. now where to start what do I check next I have manual but real doesn't explain it well. plug is good and gapped proper

disconnect the two wires from the stator coil. (the ones going to the CDI)
use an analog voltmeter and measure the voltage there (coming from the stator coil)while kicking it over. If its less than 45 volts (AC) then the stator coil may be going bad. If no voltage then it is bad.
If its going bad then the ignition is off and on at low RPM.
