91 KDX 200: Full tank lasts 12 Miles!!

Hey guys:

Any advice on this problem? My old KDX200 is going through gas like its candy! 12 Miles to the tank! I sold this thing a year ago and the guy who bought it hasn't really done any maintenance so I am going to work on it for him...I can't bare to see it this way.

I am going to start with the air filter...I'm sure its plugged but I doubt that is the only problem.

Ideas? I know the jetting was spot on when I sold it and he has not changed it...

You might check the needle valve condition and float level. Sometimes they will allow excessive fuel into the carb at higher rpms. Good luck!

I'd check for a leak in the fuel line because that thing is pissing fuel.
