91 KDX250 swing arm transplant

hey guys im looking at swaping the swing arm on my KDX250
with an alloy one of a KX250.

has anyone done this or have any ideas on what years would require the least mod's

cheers.

sorry i word'd that a bit funny, my KDX one is alloy(painted tho) but still a lot heavier than a kx one,

also the kx swing arms of the same era have the better chain adjustment system.

Does the kdx250 not have the snail cams? I think that is the best chain adjustment method EVER. I would never trade that for the old block and bolt method. Screw that noise...

mabye i need to find a new bike to play with and leave my KDX alone.....

I can do a chain adjustment in literally 1/4 the time it takes any of my friends. They all envy my snail cams. They bow down to my snail cams. They try to steal my KDX when I am not looking. I will never relinquish!!!!

If you ride the KDX more often, regular maintenance may be enough tinkering for you. Of course if you really like working on 'em you could get a 250 4 str and rev the valves out of it, that would keep you occupied between rides.

i can never have enough tinkering!!! and just cant do 4 strk!
i am eyeing up a 04 KX125 frame to slide my spare KDX250 engine into,
mabye i should get on with that?

I prefer the KDX chain adjustment style, also.

Buy a newer KX250 and put the KDX250 engine in it.
