This bike has always been a PIG to start cold, but starts great when warm...I know, I know-not jetted right. But, the bike runs so great and fast once started, who am I to argue?
It was running great last fall, I took it out yesterday to start it, I am selling it. And NO GO!!! Started puking gas out overflow tubes of Carb. Replaced plug, tried ether, float bowl was filthy! Rust staining, cleaned it, floats move free. What is going on???? HELP ME! :whoa:

try taking out your spark plug and turning the bike upside down, letting it rest on the seat and handlebars out in your yard. I didn't think it would work at first on mine, sounded stupid, but a guy I know who races and rebuilds bikes that i know told me to do it so i did. IT worked for me. no harm in trying it. He had told me that it was because of maybe stale gas or something or a ruined plug letting the bottom end fill up with gas. I'm not saying thats what it is, but it wouldn't hurt to try.

Amo, IN
might want to take the tank off first...

Although it sounds to me like you need to clean that carb better.. and then put in a new plug.

If you've got gas coming out the overflows, your float valve is either sticking open, worn out, or has debris in it. Since the floats are moving free and it was fine last year, it's probably debris. If the carb was that full of junk you really need to pull it off the bike and clean it properly. If there's enough crud to cause problems with the float valve, it's likely that the jets and other passages are plugged as well.

I have had it

I am going to try everyone's suggestions right now. I will take the tank off, pull the plug, take the carb out again and tip the pig upside down while I am cleaning the carb. Thanks everyone, I will let you know what happens.

The PIG runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you all! I tipped her upside down. Douched the carb incredibly, no more gas leak. Of course my leg was so tired from kicking I got nothing out of her. BUT then I push started her and she ran strong and fast! I shut her down and she kicked over right away. Thanks Again.
