I'm helping a young friend of mine buying his first dirtbike.

We found a '98 rt100 that seems in good shape, just needs a couple things. Hence the questions!

- needs a kickstart seal. As easy as removing the side cover, punching it out and putting a new one in?
- needs a clutch handle and brake pedal. Where's the best place to source this stuff used? I've used ebay and bikeboneyard in the past for my other bikes....

Thanks!

Who makes an rt100? That doesnt like one of the 5 or 6 major builders bikes.

You should be able to buy a clutch lever at any local motorcycle shop, or you can order them online at places like rockymountainmc.com. The brake pedal will either have to be ordered through Yamaha or bought on Ebay or a motorcycle salvage yard. As you might imagine, Yamaha is very proud of their factory parts.

easier than that...
simply pull the kickstarter, then with a small scewdriver pull the seal. most times this work.
remember to grease the new one and better yet, the plastic bag trick while inserting the seal is excelent.
