Ok, I took my carb apart, but I can't figure out how to get the needle out. I removed the throttle slide, spring, and throttle cable. There is still that silver thing (holder) left. I cannot figure out how to remove it... It doesn't seem to want to pull or twist out... Granted I'm applying fairly minimal force (don't want to break it)...

So how do I remove this doohickie so I can get at my jet needle??

thanks,

Brian

On my 97 it takes a 6mm socket to unscrew the cap that holds the needle in. I think yours is about the same.

Hehe, I would try the socket first, that's how my YZ is from what I remember.

I guess it would make more sense for it to unscrew... Considering the throttle cable pulls on it to lift the slide, it wouldn't make much sense for it to pull out...

It takes a 6mm nut driver. Just be careful not to cross-thread the nut when re-installing it. Those small threads can get buggared up very easily.
