We are contemplating riding in some of the D 37 events. I (Karna) am planning on riding the upcoming D 36 Family Enduros (much shorter than a "real" enduro and geared towards the less advanced rider). I was snooping around on the D 37 web site and
didn't see any "family" enduros listed. The next enduro listed for
1/20 (I think it was the UEC Enduro?) had a "1st loop...Fun for
all riders, 2nd loop challenge for C class, 3rd loop challenge for
A and B class". Would the first loop of a "real" D 37 enduro classify
as similar to a family enduro? Are there family enduros offered
by D 37? I would appreciate any advice or input...is there a
contact person that I can E-mail? Thanks!

I'd suggest http://pw2.netcom.com/~sorudne/twmc.html ; a true family enduro club; we're coming up to being a members for 2 years now, & several (six?) DRNers belong too. The events are outrageously fun for everyone - ask the DRN members who have recently joined. A special effort is made so everyone has something to do.

One in particular, they had a household goods demonstration, jewlery display, kid's/mom's/*** race (different courses!), pot luck, ice cream, night poker run on Sat., then an adult enduro, kid's crafts on Sun. There was always something going on. Things get less active during the winter months, but you can always count on several campfires & friendly, helpful conversation.

The next event in late January near Jawbone Canyon (just north of Mojave) is way less of a drive for you than the UEA enduro (let alone it's a lot of $). On Saturday afternoons they have a kid's/***/gal's loops & classes - perfect for beginners & well tailored for various skill levels. Sundays are for those of greater skills - AMA rules (& of similar caliber/format) but card/membership is not required. Jart-like charts are available. PM me for more deatails.

I'd be happy to have your family as my guest, but have injured myself and will be taking at least a few off - perhaps we'll man the checks but certaily not enter nor be there the entire time. As other DRNers would certainly be in attendance, perhaps they can assist - give them a few days to find/see this post, or just come out to the event Jan. 26/27th. The club members are friendly & helpfu.

Ditto what placelast said. I'm one of the six. I'll be at the next outing on the 1/26 & 1/27. Shoot me an email or a post if you would like to meet at one of the events. The more the merrier.

Thanks for the info!

Thumbs and Placelast,

Thank you for the web site and info! We will be sure to send you a
private mail/e-mail once we decide if we will attend. Justin's schedule
is kind of unknown at this point but we will be sure to keep the weekend
of 1/26 in mind! Looking forward to meeting fellow DRN'ers.

Ride Safe!
Justin and Karna
