A Strange Design (KX65)

I had my son's 2002 KX65 apart today to grease the suspension. When I reassembled the bike I noticed that when the shock is fully extended, the chain gets pinched between the lower rub guard on the swingarm and the lower chain roller.

I'm surprised that I never noticed this before because I have changed the chain rollers and chain on my son's KX65. No wonder the rollers and guards are always trashed on the KX65; everytime the kid gets air he is sawing-off the roller and guard.

Maybe you could find a smaller diameter roller made for some other bike?

Don't know how much room you have to work with.

What year is it? We have an '00 and there is plenty of clearance.
