Yesterday, I got up before sunrise to go downtown and get some shots of Dallas ... Dealey Plaza (think JFK) usually has a few street people about, hanging out by the reflection pool; was going to get some good black & white shots. Got down there, immediatley saw two GREAT shots, camera out, power on....

"No Memory Card".

DAMN ME. Drove home, nice little 40 mile drive. I really need to get some Urban stuff for my portfolio, thought about going this afternoon, but man, it's hot! It's supposed to cool down to 94 by 8PM though :whoa:

Okie the same thing happened to me on the La 1 ride. We got all the way down to Grand Isle and set up for the night. I took out my charger for my batteries, got my lenses together, went to get memory cards and guess what? They are at home in my other bag. Good thing my friend had extras I got to borrow one. :coocoo:

Also what kind of tripod are you using (if any)? I have been looking still undecided.

I just did the same thing on Saturday. We took a quick trip to the Mission at San Juan Bautista and I was planning on getting some shots. I pulled my camera out of my larger bag and put it into the smaller bag that's easier to carry around. I kept pulling my camera out and snapping shots. I went to review a few to check exposure and it popped up with "NO CF CARD." It wasn't worth the trip home to get it, so I'll have to go back sometime soon. I thought I was the only one who's done something like this!

Philip,
Finally got sick of the cheapo from best buy and got this one:

Super nice, VERY solid and the best value I've seen. It is pretty heavy though, I use it mostly in the studio, but do carry it around as well. Rock Solid and very versitale. The pistol-grip ball head is buttery smooth and locks solid. Highly recommended.

Thanks Okie it looks like what I have been looking for. I was looking at a pro master b/c of the center monopod. Would be a nice feature for the 300 lens. I like the fact that this one comes with the pistol grip at that price. The bogen plus the grip would have cost about $300 local. Thanks again!!
